Your Car, Upgraded

Remember when you were a teenager who had just gotten your license?  It does seem like a long time ago no matter how long it’ been.  If you were a regular middle class kid from the suburbs, your first car was nothing to shake a stick at.  It was probably quite a few years old and looked like it needed just a little paint in about a few hundred areas.  In my case, the main part of my income working at the local fast food joint went toward my old 95 Honda Civic.  Now that I’m a little older, I probably wouldn’t have done all the things to it that I did when I was seventeen, but there are still a few upgrades that I would make on a car just to make it a little safer and a little more stylish. Your first thought might be that auto accessories are expensive and they are not worth the price.  A lot of times you might be right, but if you are looking at headlights, it is a whole other story.  A lot of luxury car companies are putting in LED headlights for their stock models of their cars.  This not only makes the car look sleek and futuristic, it actually makes it safer to drive in a lot of weather conditions and at night.  Projector headlights can be helpful not only at night, but during snowy and rainy conditions.  They allow a few more feet of visibility and sometimes that’s all you need to see that you are about to run off the road. Plus, they look noticeably cooler than the regular stock lights.  Usually headlights will cost you no more than a couple hundred dollars and even cheaper if you bargain hunt online. If you live in a cold or rainy climate, upgraded tires are also a must have for your vehicle especially if it is not of the sport utility variety.  Snow tires are an investment, but they are not as much as you think they are if you have another set of tires for the other half of the year.  Snow tires are expensive, but if you switch them out when it doesn’t snow, they end up lasting over fifty thousand miles which can be up to six or seven years if you rotate them. So whether you want that new exhaust system that makes you engine purr or just some new auto headlights, it’s always a good idea to upgrade for safety before going for the good stuff.

Meaning in the Lives of Older Adults $114.71 This work attempts to advance our understanding of how we as human beings perceive, judge, and evaluate our lives, particularly in the last stage of the life cycle.
