“The government is likely to introduce an incentive scheme for car owners to scrap old vehicles in exchange for new ones, the BBC has learned.
The move would probably involve a payment of £2,000 to trade in cars that are a certain number of years old.
The controversial plans are designed to boost demand for new cars and help struggling carmakers who are suffering during the recession.
A similar scheme in Germany has seen demand for new cars rise dramatically.
France and Italy have also introduced so-called car scrappage schemes to boost their beleaguered car industries.
Details of the UK scheme are likely to be announced in the Chancellor’s budget on 22 April, according to BBC correspondent Joe Lynam. ”
I have to admit that at the moment we need a new car. I’m worried that this scheme is going to unbalance the second hand market for us plebs.
It’s a racket.The government are taking money through taxation off the poor and giving it to the wealthy to buy more toys.I can hardly believe that they call themselves the Labour Party.

Hungarian Green Investment Scheme $97.19 Game theoretic concepts are widely used in the environmental area. This book aims to prove that game theory might be instrumental in finding the strategies to turn panel block constructions into energy efficient buildings. The research is based on the idea that a well designed Green Investment Scheme (to be applied in Hungary), or a GIS, is an effective funding mechanism that can motivate a buildings dwellers to opt for an energy efficient renovation of their house. To support this hypothesis, two game theoretic models are developed that present interactions, first, between dwellers within one building and, second, between the government and households. Results suggest a GIS is an efficient instrument of national policy only under certain conditions.
