I have two wilton cake pans in the shap on thomas the train and cars. How do i get the cake to take the shape?

How do i get the cake to acutally take the shape of the picture on the pan. Every time that the cake pan is use its like a vague train or car shape.

Oil and flour the pan really well. Put the batter in and hit the pan up and down on a flat surface. Bake and pray, it should take the shape of the pan. If it doesn’t you can always use decorations to give it the shape like fondant or candy. I wouldn’t use a really moist or oily cake batter though, it might fall apart. You could try freezing it in the pan after it cooks and then de-pan it as well. That will give you more control and make the cake easier to get out with out it cracking.
